The Path to AI and Cognitive Science

If I were to rewind the 50s and read Turing's paper, the idea of making a child machine is very appealing to me because children have a pretty good track record for turning into adults with little guidance. Do you think that analogy holds up for the path we're currently finding ourselves on? Well, depends which path, right? There's like, there's multiple conversations happening right now in the field of AI... And gosh, we can't agree even between the fields. Sorry, within the fields.
