The Serious Use of Leisure

We often need to justify the opportunity cost, everything. People need to spend time and money to undergo philosophy. The state subsidizes it somewhat. And so it needs to have some sense of ROI on that relative to other things. So suppose we relieve ourselves from that for some stretch of time every day or something? We really don't have much of a reason to be trying to make a better world. That is to have not every ounce of our energy be occupied by the need to survive and help other people survive.
