The Fear of Artificial General Intelligence

You've written a couple of blog posts about that how justified if at all is the fear of artificial general intelligence. So I don't think chat GBT has any mental states whatsoever. It's not just that it's dumber than us. It's that it does not have beliefs or desires or perceptions or whatever. And so then they might be tricked into thinking or they might conclude that the computer is conscious and that it understands all the stuff that is talking about. Right. You can sort of like metaphorically talk about that. In the room, I'm acting as a computer. There's no reason to think that the silicon based computer would understand it either because it doesn't have anything
