I Think It's Been Sad to Watch That's No Longer Our Mission Statement

American economics in your time and my time was remarkable in its quest for quality, scientific accuracy as the big competition. I think that has ceased to be the top priority. And it's not a unique to to economics, because i think universities generally are saying we're not actually primarily interested in the smartest people doing the ground breaking work. Thus no longer are that's no longer our mission statement at any major university.
