Great zambabe was built over a long period, about six or 700 years. The kingdom traded across africa as far north as northern congo. Artifacts have been recovered in the ruins that show trade with china, india and the middle east. And it was this thriving economy that funded the walls of their massive capital city - they still stand to day.
