Doyu member: Elon musk made public remarks about this book, which i think kicked off a bunch of people. The thing about this book that i found really convincing was it used no metaphors at all. If you can create something that is smarter than you, the feeling i have of this is almost like turning over the keys of the universe to something that is vastly beyond your control. I will say that if you don't think tht it is possible for humans to create artificial intelligence, i'm not sure where the conversation goes from there.
