The Effects of Artificial Sweeteners on Gut Microbiome

Scientists have found that animals fed artificial sweeteners experience changes to their gut bacteria. But when these studies were carried out on humans, scientists did not observe similar results. Even at higher doses of sucralose, they found that artificial sweeteners do not alter the human gut microbiome even for a short period. So again, that's one study and there's not many human studies, but this data has not been replicated in humans.
