Was the Seventies as Bad as We're Being Told to Remember?

Growth rates of the seventies were very disappointing by the standards of the preceding period. The post war growth boom, especially in europe, over a new structure of the world economy was beginning. This in lishes, if you like, an adjustment shock. But i think it's probably better to think of this period as one of experimentation rather than simply of malays or crisis.
