The Age of the Universe and Evolution

The magisterium has issued a ruling that the sources of faith do not require us to take a young earth view. Scientifically, numerous lines of evidence support both an old earth and biological evolution. We have strong evidence from astronomy that the universe is older than a few thousand years. And if events were happening in the universe millions of years ago, that means we're living in an old universe.
