The Biggest One Year Gain in the S&P 500
The biggest one year gain for the s am p was in 19 33. But because of the feter reserve and all the monetary stimulus, share prices did not go down along with the earnings, so the p e went up. In 19 forty five, that was the year that the second war, war ended, we had a forty eight % gain in the s p. And then we had a big rally in 19 54. There is some reason that the market was very depressed prior to the big jump. Back then, despite the fact that we had an even bigger rise in the s n to get there - it happened from very, very low valuations.
