The Great Stone of the New Temple
Just as the Gospel begins with the opening of the virgin womb, it will end with the open of the virgin tomb. The sudden presence of Josephs and Marys should alert us to this association. And we can maybe think back to Isaiah 51 verse 1. Christ is the great stone that will become the chief cornerstone of the new temple.
