In 1984, a man named Stuart Campbell analyzed the picture for an article that appeared in the British Journal of Photography. He concluded that the object is at most between two and three feet long. And it's not a real but tiny monster because the image simply appears to be... hopes. The creature was reportedly a toy submarine built by Christian Spirling, the son-in-law of Marbaduke Weatherall.
