The Powers Aren't There for a Final Battle
The powers aren't there for a final battle where you need each one of the powers like an Avengers style. They really are there as fun, magical expressions of who these people are in this family. And that's why the movie as it went on, it became more and more clear to me that it wasn't a bunch of randomness. It was using this conceit of magic as a way to express and externalize family roles.
