The term "Overton window" refers to the range of acceptable opinions and utterances in the mainstream. It was invented by someone named Joseph Overton, who worked for a center right think tank. The idea here is to examine how Overton windows get established. And we're going to examine the Overton window as it is now and then how it has changed over time.
