Melatonin for Insomnia Symptoms?
The first line of treatment for insomnia is cognitive behavioral therapy, says sleep psychologist. Melatonin does seem to be effective in things like treating jet lag or delayed sleep phase but should not be taken at doses much higher than they should. "It kind of muddies the picture because people then begin to kind of feel like they rely on these things," she adds.
