I often think that there are many more issues that unite people across the political spectrum than divide people. Most debates are best solved by compromise because there are debates between different groups of people with different ideas and interests. The differences one can't work with are the ones where big forces in our society say, pay no attention to physics. Once you melt the Arctic, nobody has a good plan for how you freeze it back up again. So our job now is to move fast to do this. And that's where the political divisions get in the way.
