The Different Types of Scrupulosity
Scrupulosity is just being consumed by the spiritual anxiety, right? Of constantly feeling guilty for religious or moral failure. And it's a kind of specter that haunts our Catholic tradition, right? Like we talked about Catholic guilt. But but I think you're right, Father Joseph Anthony, when you say like if we start talking about what scrupululence is, we have to recognize like everything else, right? Their degrees, there's clinical OCD scrupulosity, which is so great that the suffer can barely function. Then there's someone who just kind of struggles from time to time, identifying their sins and maybe needs to form their conscience a little bit better.
