How to Encourage Engagement in Children's Experiences
The main reason to be in these experiences is to see what the children are bringing to it. In church, they love that red hymnal and they want to be the one to hold the book open while we're singing. Or maybe they love the little nook in the pubench and they're just enjoying that. So have boundaries in the situation like taking them outside or removing them from those situations as needed,. As much as possible, encourage engagement rather than distraction from the experience.
