Is There a Utilitarianism?
Peter Singer and Sam Harris have very simplistic views about what a full-scale morality should consist in. Both of them are basically utilitarian, which is a classical position. And Harris makes that even worse by thinking that science tells us that. Science doesn't determine your attitude to anything. They require an attitude of wonder to the world but it doesn't tell you that the source of all value is human happiness or anything like it.
