The Taliban's Secret Schools
Two weeks ago, our schools were closed. There are consequences for teachers and students. Other activists have gone missing. For me, all of this brings back dark, distant and difficult memories. As a young girl, I went to secret schools myself. And the shadow educators who started these schools from scratch, but now live in constant fear of being discovered and shut down. We can't reveal their real names or actors will say their words. But we will meet the pupils. They tell us: "I feel like I'm stealing an education. I'm stealing life"
