The Rise and Fall of the Capitalocene
The Anthropocene is almost finished. It will have lasted less than 200 years, geologically speaking. I call it the Catastrophocene. The dangerous thing that we're doing to the earth is we are using an infinite commodity, i.e. money, to exploit a finite planet. So if you start using an infinite source of wealth, wealth in inverted commas to exploited a finite planet, you run out of planet long before you running out of money. We need a human currency which signals us when our management of the planet is good and bad.
