South Africa provides a really I think rich site for unpacking those. can see that you can see that passive revolution from above that sort of attempt to push this more radical movement to the periphery to the margins emerging well before the democratic transition of the early 90s and so I think that's a big part of the story which to tell that story appropriately I think you have to draw from lots of different places.
