The Fulfillment Gap

In a recent study, researchers found that people with high athletic identity but low levels of competition were more likely to engage in disordered eating behaviors. This could be because they are not being fulfilled by their sports or identities at the same level as someone who is competing at an elite level. And it's all about the fulfillment gap or what I'm calling the fulfillment gap. So one of the things that I wanted to get your opinion on is Ultra Marathon has this kind of like rich history of trying to manipulate eating behaviors in an ergogenic way. What do you have to say about incorporating some of these strategies intentionally?
