Book Review - Is There a Book in the World?

The meaning of the passage is to show that books are a way for kids to be transported into places that are far away. But California with John Steinbeck is just anticlimactic. It's like saying, you know, New York with Tom Wolfe or something. With Rudyard Kipling, it wasn't even just India, they're talking about sort of modern day Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
