The Future of Atomic Clocks
Atomic clocks are extraordinarily good, but there's room for improvement. Clocks that run GPS have to go up on satellites, and it's expensive because they're big bulky things. If you could have simpler clocks that were robust, even if they weren't quite as exact precise, they could be very useful. And I think employing the ideas that go into time crystals that have been emerging from their study could very well give new ways of either synchronizing a bunch of atomic clocks to be more accurate than any individual clock.
