The Psychology of Stature and Respect in International Relations
i think some scholars have said issues like respect and stature play a role, a psychological role, in international relations. Houton wants people to acknowledge his stature and the stature of russia. And it pisses him off when we don't. i do think this is another thing that may separate me from some realists. I know john meersheimer likes to just focus strictly on national security considerations. That's kind of what theorists do.
