The German Empire by Eight Years

Germany and austria were the first countries to use daylight saving time in 19 16. But a few hundred canadians actually beat the germans by eight years. The residence of port port arthur, ontario, which is apparently thunder bay to day, turned their clocks forward by one hour to start the world's first daylight saving time period.
