Emmila Fitzsimons led the Millennium Cohort Study, which follows over 19,000 children born in the UK at the turn of the millennium. A baby born on a Saturday is 6 percentage points less likely to be breastfed than one born on a Monday. The study finds breastfeeding support is less available in the hospital at weekends. It doesn't find effect on health or non cognitive outcomes.
