The patient's EKG on the monitor changes from normal sinus rhythm at 90 beats per minute to 170 beats per minute. "This is something that you just can't let go on and hopefully resolve on its own," he says. If all else fails, anesthesiologist could deliver electrical shock in a synchronized fashion.
