The Value Structure of Firstness

We approach God as if we can use our accomplishments, our achievements to almost barter with God the things that we want done. We are well-educated people who have been schooled in a way of knowing that treats the world as an object to be dissected and to be manipulated. And I think the disciples in verse 26 understood this astonished, looking at someone who they would have thought as a model disciple, walk away sad.
