The Rise and Fall of MacArthur
As World War II approached endgame, the Japanese much like their collapsing German ally, through any remaining restraint to the wind. By avoiding major battles and gradually shifting the battle westward, MacArthur would reclaim the mantle of the Philippines in 1945. As many as 200,000 Korean women were quote-mobilized into this slavery along with smaller numbers of Filipinos, Chinese and a handful of Westerners. The colonizers even forced Koreans to worship traditional Japanese religious shrines.
