The Meaning of Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without the words. It's bigger than just logic. There's hoping against hope even in the worst of times. So what would you look at if you had to come up with the definition of hope? Where would you go? Other than Emily Dickinson. I think this is the best definition of hope in existence, really.
