Quara was a much tougher city to conquer, and one day found doors slammed in his face at almost every turn. De Natus wondered for the very first time in twenty-five years of selling rotary phones if he had lost his touch. The bloody heat, the noise, the rank smell of humanity, not to mention a very poor performance in Quara had put him in a very bad temper. He waited with the tickets and their luggage in the departure lounge in the train station while De Natus went on to call their employer to give an update on their situation.
