I think it's entirely possible for Russia to become a democracy, but it's all about timeframes. I very much agree with this notion of a Russia that doesn't just simply sort of fall into the West's arms. But on the other hand, if we do think of a more pluralistic world order in which actually the European Union, while essentially kind of broadly aligned with the United States, has its own distinct interests, that actually provides an interesting situation for Russia as well. So you're finding yourself not squeezed between a China and a West who can triangulate around each others' interests.
