Social Media and Negativity Bias
We're drawn to stories of danger and things that might harm us. Most of these cognitive biases are kind of adaptive in a small scale situation where you know everybody. We evolved to be social, of course, but not on this scale. So we can see this kind of negativity bias, maybe online, being magnified by social media.
