"We saw three white lights in a line, equally spaced along a line parallel to the highway," he says. "They were inclined, maybe 10, 15 degrees above the direction we thought was horizontal." The four bright lights are all that can be seen at night; there is no moon or stars and it's pitch-black. A few seconds later an amber light looks like it's closing on us but then shoots off into the distance.
