The Difference Between the Germans and the Jews in the Occupied Zone
At the beginning of the war, there's approximately six million french people on the road. And all these people have fled south. If they had fled south, then once that border was sealed, they were not allowed to return to their homes in the north alsace and lorraine as part of this armistice. People living in that territory are now actually considered living in germany. The most visible difference as well as that, people living in the occupied zone saw the presence of german troops. German troops were actually on french soil. And so they saw soldiers in their uniforms walking down the streets. And and saw a kind of the visible embodiment of the occupation.
