Why the Indian State Both Fails and Succeeds
There are strong incentives towards redistribution rather than provision of goods which will benefit everyone in the society. So what are the reasons for that? I guess it is because one you have this zero some mindset which comes out of probably scarcity. And when you suddenly have this option of a democracy, you are then optimizing for what I can make of it, not just for me but for my narrowly defined community.
