The Night Terror

Elizabeth hears someone is in the back garden. She imagines a fully kidded out techno thief scaling the trellis slamming some vicious new malwar through the house security system, rendering all the censors and howlers useless at once. She gropes under the bed for a bio locked box. It tastes her finger prints and slides open. Inside is an amazon shotist, supposedly small and easy to carry. Her lungs seem to have stopped working. That's unlucky. The smart glass in the hall shows no intruder detected. Elizabeth suspects this is why night terror calcified in the genome. All the babies who didn't scream were carried off by leopards.
