The Role of Luck in Moral Judgments

Psychologist has been focusing on how luck can impact moral judgments. It seems to me it's a matter of luck that I was born in Britain then in relatively peaceful time and not in Nazi Germany for instance. On the other hand it does feel intuitively right that people who are drunk and kill people on the way home ought to be severely punished. And so part of the mystery we have to explain is why would the brain be designed with different sets of moral intuitions that lead us to different answers?
