The Role of Women in ADHD Diagnosis
In children, there's a three to one ratio boys to girls being recognized with ADHD. But it approaches one to one in adulthood. The risk factors for not getting diagnosed are being bright, having a structured environment slash a partner or being female. It has been documented that women have a delay in getting certain medical and psychiatric diagnosis over their male counterparts.
