There's an argument that AI in particular might cause lock-in. What exactly might it be locking in? I think a couple of broad categories are on the first part laws and institutions that are designed to govern AI. Boy, there could also just be certain norms about how AI is governed or used. You might also think that there are certain design decisions that could be made about machine learning systems that could carry forward. So I'm not very confident that you'll have that many things that will kind of go one way or the other that will sort of lock in for long periods of time.
