What Is It Like to Be an Octopus?

I think it, you know, if we look at our own cognition, what we come to understand is that we don't understand very much about cognition. For a really good example that other people besides skateboarders could relate to would be suddenly waking up behind the wheel of your car. I imagine kind of drifting around their arms are doing stuff. They're kind of moving over the environment. Their brain is keeping an eye out in some ways for predators, et cetera. And then the arm reaches into a hole and gets nipped by something and the octopus brain kind of goes, wait, what are you doing? What's in there? Where am I?"
