Bolt 12 is a standardization effort for kind of the next generation, lightning invoices and payment systems. Bolt 11 was something that I wrote over a weekend to just encapsulate the minimum stuff we needed so that you could make a lightning payment. But really what people want is a static QR code that gives them open everything.
