The Mycenaean Culture and Influence on the Greek Island of Crete
The first societies of Europe were the Minoans on the Greek island of Crete. Mycenaean pottery has been found all over the place and could tell us more about their trade extents. The lack of significant fortifications around Minoan settlements in comparison to the MyCenaeans demonstrates that the Minoins were the dominant culture of the Aegean surroundings. However, the presence of fortifications around MycenAEan settlements could have pointed towards a fear of attack from the outwardly mobile Minoans themselves.
