Is There a Degenerational Effect?

Is there a sense in which military service creates citizens? So do are these er? Let's say service el because e, i'd want to include not just soldiers and maybe not just men. Talk then about citizen armies and politics. But i want to come, we go bottom up before we go top down. Am, is there te sense in which Military Service creates citizens? Do they think of themselves as more cosmopolitan people who have earned a major political voice? Can you track that through the rest of their lives? I dont think there's any question about that either.
