The Only Grown Up in the Group
Koje, the only grown up in the group is now gone. Ake quickly rummages through his back back and pulls out a rope. He tugs twice on the rope to see if he can make it out. The roar of the current is deafening; ik has no underwater headland or flashlight. Knight feels relief when they reach a sandy area with a big open space. It's called pataa beach. Coach tells the boys the water was probably just a tide, that it will be gone by morning. But what choice do they have? Before bed? Coach ache leads the boys in prayers.
