Introduction

Constanti nople is one of the most unique and important cities in world history. Located on a european land mass peninsula pointing towards a similar asian landmass peninsula that together act as a barrier between the black sea and the larger mediterranean sea. The barrier is penetrated by the bosphorus strait, which separate the two peninsulas. They may have once been joined together as an isthmus. If this happened, then the sea levels of the black sea would have risen by a con miderable amount. And has been hypothesised to be the event that is immortalized by many religious ancient cosmological texts such as Noah's ark.
