Is There a Conundrum for Libertarianism?
Rothbard had never said that there would never be the need to use force. He was saying we don't need to have monopoly courts, but of course we need to have courts. Every business requires a hierarchy of command and every employer has the right to expect obedience within his proper sphere of authority. It is not different within the family, the church, the classroom. There's no problem with this. Libertarianism has always acknowledged this. With the exception of the very confused, weird John Stuart Mill, that there's nothing un-libertarian about society frowning upon certain things people might do. That's purely voluntary. People can do that.
