The Council of Nicaea
The Council of Nicaea was held in 325 CE attended by between 250 and 350 bishops. The main thing that they were there to try to resolve was something known as the Aryan controversy. This idea that Jesus had been begotten developed based on description of Jesus's- only Son is not what we actually think of today.
